Online Educational Game Reflection

There are many games to choose from on the internet.  The internet has a wide variety of games.  Some games are too complicated for me to figure out and some games limited to certain age groups.  I was very satisfied with the range at which the game progresses to improve a persons’ reading.  The most important thing that I found with Learning to Read is it has the choices from children’s learning to adult learning.  It also has other choices of learning like mathematics and other studies that can be purchased at http://www.starfall.com/n/N-order/store.htm.
In my second group, the game we had chosen had to do with fractions and I wasn't to satisfied with this game, but the game can be found at  http://prezi.com/pcy7vy_9alrs/educational-online-game/?kw=view-pcy7vy_9alrs&rc=ref-32742841 .  I believe I can use this game in teaching the parts of certain things in my content area, but believe it will be limited.  Like un pida'su,  means one piece, which could be related to one whole.  But I'm still more interested in using the Learning to Read more often.
It has given me ideas that I believe will be effective in teaching Chamorro.  The game uses phonics.  I believe the use of this game will be an effective resource for my educational lessons.
The only thing I didn’t like about this game is I didn’t find it in any other language, which is what I would have to provide and produce for the integration of this game to my specialty in education.  Another dilemma that I feel I will encounter is the diversity of students we have on Guam. I will have to manage the “learner attitudes about the subject matter, or in some instances, culturally determined acceptable patterns of behavior”,  (Allyn and Bacon Inc., 1974).
It gave me ideas like making assessments for reading in Chamorro by using the games design in Chamorro.  This idea came from “evaluations of their students’ reading in five different domains: comprehension, awareness about reading strategies, self-confidence, effort and interests or experiences”, (American Psychological Association, Paris S.G., Wellman H.M., 1998).  afforded by the internet”  (Stephenson J. and named authors, 2001).
Overall, this game is going to be a very resourceful tool for me in teaching Chamorro and applying it to online learning.
